The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (the College) is now accepting applications from members to serve as Non-Council Committee Members. Appointments are for a three-year term beginning March 2019.
The College is dedicated to serving and protecting the public interest through effective planning, guidance and regulation of the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Non-Council members play an active role in the College by serving on committees. Sitting on a Committee as a non-Council member is an opportunity for you to participate in the regulation of your profession.
Committee members are expected to attend meetings and teleconferences throughout the year. Depending on the particular Committee and its workload, there is some difference in time commitment. Non-Council members are paid a pro-rated per diem of $150 based on full-day meetings and preparation time. Out-of-pocket expenses, such as accommodations, meals and travel, are reimbursed.
Potential non-Council members should be prepared to fulfill expectations such as:
- arranging schedules to meet time commitments
- reviewing preparatory materials in advance of meetings
- participating in discussion and decision making at the Committee level
- maintaining confidentiality
- implementing and supporting Council and Committee decisions and directives
- demonstrating accountability to the public through decision-making in the public interest
If you would like to submit an application, please complete and submit the attached form by Friday, February 15, 2019 to email@example.com. In the application, please ensure that you indicate on which Committee(s) you are interested in serving.
The Executive Committee will review all applications and make its recommendations to Council at its March 2019 meeting. Successful members will be notified of their appointment shortly after the March Council meeting.
