For Practitioners

Regulation enhances the status of the TCM profession and promotes the credibility of a registered practitioner.
The public will have confidence of knowing that the TCM profession is regulated by law to ensure delivery of quality care, the same as Ontario’s 23 other regulated health professionals under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991.  They will have the assurance that only a competent and ethical practitioner can be registered to provide TCM services in Ontario and be allowed to use the titles “Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner” and/or “Acupuncturist”.

“Entry-level Occupational Competencies for the Practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada” will be used.
To ensure fairness and equity to all applicants, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario will use the “Entry-level Occupational Competetencies for the Practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada”  as the yardstick to determine an applicant’s knowledge, skills and abilities for registration purpose.

It is a matter of knowing the facts to prepare for registration.
