Call for Interest - Opportunity to Serve on College Committees

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (the College) is now accepting applications from members to serve as Non-Council Committee Members. Applications for appointments will next be considered at the September 2022 Council meeting for a three-year term beginning October 2022.

The College is dedicated to serving and protecting the public interest through effective planning, guidance and regulation of the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Non-Council members play an active role in the College by serving on committees. Sitting on a Committee as a non-Council member is an opportunity for you to participate in the regulation of your profession.

Committee members are expected to attend meetings and teleconferences throughout the year. Depending on the particular Committee and its workload, there is some difference in time commitment. Non-Council members are paid a pro-rated per diem of $275 based on full-day meetings and preparation time. Out-of-pocket expenses, such as accommodations, meals and travel, are reimbursed for in-person meetings.

Potential non-Council members should be prepared to fulfill expectations such as:

  • arranging schedules to meet time commitments
  • reviewing preparatory materials in advance of meetings
  • participating in discussion and decision making at the Committee level maintaining confidentiality
  • implementing and supporting Council and Committee decisions and directives
  • demonstrating accountability to the public through decision-making in the public interest
