Safety and Jurisprudence Test

All applicants must successfully complete the Safety Program and Jurisprudence Course for registration with the CTCMPAO.

The tests are available in an online-proctored format only.  To apply for the online tests, please log in to your Portal account here, and select “My Applications” from the Registration menu at the top of the page.

The purpose of the Safety Program is to prepare practitioners in traditional Chinese medicine to practice according to expected safety standards, procedures and processes when offering TCM services to patients, and ensure registered members engage in safe practices and continue to maintain and upgrade their competencies in safe practices.

The purpose of the Jurisprudence Course is to provide information on the ethical and legal framework within which Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists are expected to practice in Ontario.

For detailed test instructions, procedures and sample questions, please refer to the Safety Program Test Guideline and the Jurisprudence Course Test Guideline. The Safety Program and Jurisprudence Course are open-book tests proctored online until further notice. Candidates are only permitted to bring the Safety Program Handbookand Jurisprudence Course Handbook, published by the CTCMPAO, to the test.
