On January 29, 2015, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (the “College”) obtained an Order from The Honourable Ms. Justice Parfett of the Superior Court of Justice pursuant to section 87 of the Health Professions Procedural Code prohibiting Mr. D. Kuoc Zung aka Quoc Dung Dang aka Dang Quoc Dung aka John D. Quoc Dung aka John D. Kuoc Dang aka Kuoc Zung Dang (“Mr. Zung”) from contravening the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Act. Mr. Zung is not a registered member of the College.
The Order prohibits Mr. Zung from engaging in controlled acts reserved for members of the College including performing acupuncture and communicating a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis.
The Order further prohibits Mr. Zung from holding himself out as a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner or acupuncturist.
This Order demonstrates the College’s ongoing commitment to the regulation of the profession in the public interest. Ensuring only registered members of the College are performing regulated acts on the public is an important component of the College’s public safety mandate.
