Ontario Regions Entering Modified Stage 2

The Ontario government has recently announced that Ottawa, Peel, Toronto and York Region are in a modified Stage 2 of Ontario’s reopening plan. This is a result of the regional trends in public health indicators, including higher than average rates of COVID-19 transmission.

The measures apply to various situations, such as social gatherings, staffed businesses and facilities [e.g., gyms, restaurants, and personal care, etc.] and interactive exhibits.

As regulated health professionals, CTCMPAO members must continue following the operational requirements set out in COVID-19 Operational Requirements: Health Sector Restart. In addition, the College has prepared a Return to Practice Guidance Document to assist members in a gradual and safe restart to their services. Members are expected to continue to prioritize the safety of their patients, staff, colleagues and others visiting their practice.

To the extent that directives and guidance from the Ministry of Health, Public Health Ontario and other authoritative bodies regarding practices during COVID-19 differ, TCM practitioners and acupuncturists should apply the higher standard.
