Regulated Health Services May Continue to Operate During Shutdown

Effective 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020, the Ontario government will impose a Provincewide Shutdown for 14 days in Northern Ontario and 28 days in Southern Ontario. Please see the announcement from the government for more information. Regulated health services continue to remain open, and TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists may continue to operate with all safety precautions in place.

The current COVID-19 Response Framework will be paused when the Provincewide Shutdown comes into effect. The impacts of these time-limited measures will be evaluated throughout the 14 days in Northern Ontario and 28 days in Southern Ontario to determine if it is safe to lift any restrictions or if they need to be extended.

CTCMPAO members must continue to follow the requirements set out in the Chief Medical Officer of Health Directive 2, COVID-19 Operational Requirements: Health Sector Restart, and the College's Return to Practice Guidance Document.

All members are expected to continue to follow strict infection prevention and control protocols to prioritize the safety of their patients, staff, and community.

The College continues to closely monitor the situation for any new directions from the Ministry of Health. Please visit the College website regularly for any further updates.
